A Principal’s Thought

#Ahlconintl outgoing batch class XII (2018-19)

#14years #14Sentiments as they leave to make a mark on the global stage.

A Principal’s thought

 1. When you entered the intimidating, green iron gates of this campus, you were too young to realise what is your life and experience going to be for the next 14 years?

 2. What you did not know then is that on this tiny 2 Acres campus you will be surrounded by people who are passionate, loving and caring. People who will embrace you and reduce the pain of your separation from the safe home environment.

 3. You did not know that someone will unlock the keys to your bright future- Those were people who acknowledged early on that you were a seedling of a massive oak tree in the making.

 4. Over the years while you were growing, you fought angrily with peers, argued stubbornly with the teachers, turned up shabbily, turned up with assignments even more shabbily. However, you also surprised us with your stage performances. We loved it all.

 5. I know all of us are not the same: we are unique pieces much as you are. Some of us are serious, some of us more jovial, some are soft-spoken, some are loud and straight – talking, some roundabout, some short-tempered, impatient, but some are more perseverant and poised. However, what is common in all of us is the vast love, care, enthusiasm, and a deep sense of duties and responsibilities to nurture and mentor each one of you.

 6. I acknowledge you did not always have a good time with us. You struggled with phonetics, rhymes, algebra, world map, Newton's Laws, awakening citizen classes, maybe dance and music, and not to forget the occasional march past.

 7.  We showed patience. We may have been unsparing at times, but at heart, we were astonishingly generous. As you grew, we stopped pampering you, treating you as cognitive equals. In the face of differences, we tried to convince you, taking your rigidity in our stride.

 8. Do not mind our strict marking, ruthless criticism, remember our generous praise, remember our delight and applause at your little accomplishments. Remember also how many times we broke, the rules we framed ourselves, to protect you from any harm. Life is a roller-coaster they say. During your 14 years at Ahlcon, we never allowed you to scream out of fear. If you did, it was out of adventure and excitement.

 9. Did you realise how soon you grew into an impressive adolescent, articulate, responsible, independent, and "who-cares-kind"? You did surprise us with your abilities, and accomplishments. We took pride in mentoring you, catering to your needs, walking with you till the last mile. We ensured you do not hit the thoughts of ‘low’. We intervened when you developed self-doubts, conflicts, and ‘quit-motions”. We inter-changed our roles to suit your demands. We don’t mind you never acknowledged any of these.

 10. I have fantastic memories of your journey. I have enjoyed every moment that we spent. Your hesitant walk in the early years, to corridor sprints and skating to washroom sojourn define our togetherness.

 11. May I appeal to you to cherish the times you have spent on this beautiful campus. Our efforts were to imbue in you the intellect, value and character. We took care to make you feel emotionally enriched. We designed circumstances and created opportunities to make you feel valued, important, attended and cared.

 12. As I said earlier, the seedling is now a beautiful, tender, good looking oak. May you all flourish. People around you may envy your values and upbringing. May your sensitivities and sensibilities are talked about by your peers, network and the circle you influence in life.

 13. rI am incredibly delighted and grateful that the Almighty has given the strength and wisdom to my colleagues and to me to shape the lives of so many of you year after year!

 14. Let us celebrate this occasion as a mark of our redefined relationship and not a declaration of separation. As we wish you a bright future, you pray your alma mater all the best. We will watch you climb the ladders of success with pride. You keep coming back to enrich our efforts. May you all do well in your examination.
